Understanding: Visualization and quotation
This phase helps the team determine feasibility of designing a product. It involves understanding everything about a new client and its business. After that, the team visualizes potential solutions through tangible prototypes, by a combination of ideas, technologies and market perceptions with observations of real world users to investigate potential needs that the product could meet. Based on the above efforts, the final quotation, including cost of mold tooling, part engineering, assembling and development, will be presented to clients, together with technical documents.
Mold tooling: Contracting accessory parts outsourcing
During this phase, the team complete product design and verify that the product can work well. Production or prototype mold are tooled. All the parts are outsourced at the same time. An integrated project management group is in charge of this phase.
T1,Injection: Assembly implement
The purpose of this phase is to assemble those parts and verify that the product can work well. Also the team will focus on the improvement of mold production rate.
Modification: Function and life test
In this phase, a number of samples are tested concerning their function and life either by client or a third party to meet government regulations.
Finalize: Molds/Technology documents transfer to customer
By the end of this phase, the team will deliver a full functional design model, tooling databases, the technical documents, and the product to the client.
